Kathy Moore

Chief Executive Officer

Kathy Moore is the Chief Development Officer for the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and is the CEO for the Chamber's charitable arm, the Inspire Foundation. Kathy is dedicated to the success of the community. She works closely with the President of the Inspire Foundation and the Chamber CEO to assist with managing and advancing annual fundraising and workforce development efforts. Kathy just celebrated her 14th year with the organization.                 

 

Kathy served on a team of fourteen representing Oregon with The Reach Higher initiative, which is former First Lady Michelle Obama’s effort to inspire every student in America to take charge of their future by pursuing education beyond high school, whether at a professional training program, a community college, or a four-year college or university. Kathy serves on the Maps Community Foundation, Maps Credit Union board, and multiple committees. Kathy is passionate and committed to being a mentor, currently to two middle school students and one high school student.

Rian joined the Inspire team in August 2017 after receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon in public relations and nonprofit administration. As a 2012 Leadership Youth graduate, Rian has the unique experience as both participant and staff. He oversees the Salem Young Professionals program, Inspire communications, 2nd Year Leadership Youth and other day-to-day affairs of the Foundation.

Jessica Nissen

Communications Intern

Jessica grew up in Salem and attended Chemeketa Community College for two years. She then transferred to Biola University to get her Bachelor’s in Public Relations. With a concentration in Nonprofit and Ministry PR, she has enjoyed learning about the daily operations and communication methods of a nonprofit organization (The Inspire Foundation). Her internship will last throughout the summer between her junior and senior years. After graduating in May 2020, she hopes to work in PR, communications, or journalism, somewhere along the west coast.
